Testosterone Replacement Therapy

PRICE: £200

This test panel was designed by the doctor we work closely with who provides testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). It is designed to both assess whether a man has low testosterone but also to assess whether TRT is safe for them to go ahead with. It is a minimum requirement for going ahead with this treatment. It also gives a good, basic overall view of a man’s health.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need a referral?
We don’t require a referral from a doctor or specialist to test a patient’s blood, although doctors may refer patients to us to have their blood tested.
How do I prepare for a blood test?
It’s important to come for your test while hydrated. Make sure you’ve had plenty of water that day. Usually, there are no specific preparations for blood tests, but some may require fasting or are better at different times of the day or points within the menstrual cycle. Give us a call if you are worried or need some guidance on this.
How much does it cost?
Prices vary depending on which biomarkers and the number of biomarkers analyzed. Here at Being Well, we don’t have an added fee for phlebotomy, so the price you see is the price you pay. If you’d like a price beforehand, please let us know. We can arrange blood draws for kits you may have been sent by other practitioners or companies; this is usually £40.
What age do I have to be to get tested?
The minimum age for a blood test at Being Well Pharmacy is 18 years old.
Are there any side effects?
Mild side effects may include some soreness and bruising at the needle insertion site.
I’m a bit nervous about having my blood taken, is that OK?

That’s totally fine, and we’re used to people being a little nervous. If you’re nervous about having your blood taken, we’ll try to put you at ease and make the experience as easy and pleasant as possible. We’ll never take your blood against your will. It’s also generally a very calm environment here, and if you’re booked in, it’s very unlikely you’ll have to queue or wait around. If you’re a little worried, let us know when you arrive. Some people need a chat, and some need a cup of tea to settle them in; it’s fine.
